Case Study: Logging / Forestry Industry

The Corrosion Challenge

Logging trailers used by the forestry industry are subjected to challenging, brutal usage and environments. Large hooks are thrown over and around the units to secure loads on the trailer. When these hooks make contact with the balusters, this contact causes large areas of the (zinc epoxy/urethane) paint finish to scrape off. Significate damage results within only 1-2 days of field use, leaving the exposed steel susceptible to corrosion.

Field-Proven Solution

CORSOL® corrosion solutions, METAL POLYMERIZATION® proprietary liquid copolymer, was applied to the logging trailer’s balusters and chassis. This process created a chemical reaction between the copolymer and the steel substrate, providing nonsacrificial protection against corrosion undercutting and blistering. After an estimated 1,000 loads, the CORSOL® corrosion solutions protected trailers look brand new.

The forestry logging firm owner was amazed by the solution performance and described CORSOL® corrosion solutions as “tough stuff.” Our high-performance technologies provided the ultimate protection, and solved their corrosion challenge.
